About Thomas Hardy's Cottage

Location: Higher Bockhampton, Dorset Built: 1800 Thomas Hardy was born in this cottage and lived there for 34 years. It was in this house that he wrote 'Under the Greenwood Tree' and 'Far from the Madding Crowd', and it is now owned by the National Trust, making it a popular tourist attraction.
