This beautiful mug is part of our Suffragettes collection, commemorating 100 years women being able to vote in the UK. The design features the iconic scenes and characters of the Suffragette movement.
This hand-crafted fine bone china cup is made in the potteries in Stoke-on-Trent, one of Great Britain’s last remaining craft industries, using traditional methods which have remained unchanged for generations. Fine bone china is translucent, pure white in colour and is stronger and more chip-resistant than earthenware china, and has been made in Stoke-on-Trent since the 1790’s by famous pottery houses such as Spode, Wedgwood, Royal Doulton, and Duchess China.
Each mug takes 7 days to make; it is cast in a mould and is finished by hand by highly skilled glazers and lithographers. Bone china has a long history in the English countryside and lends itself to Alison’s heritage creations, ensuring rich and beautiful colours on every design.
